one of my friends said Mansfield park just sounds like a football club name and she’s so right. Mansfield park v northanger abbey
no show will ever have what taskmaster has. to me. the absolute silliness. a competition show where everyone wins and everyone loses and everyone is having the time of their lives. bring in a flashlight from your kitchen as a prize. or bring in your whole oven. it’s 5 points either way. you WILL build a fort out of cardboard and tape and you WILL care about it so much. the way every task is so harmless and fun and generally done with like. everyday household objects. it’s just weird little challenges that no one in their right mind would ever do or be good at. but everyone wants to win so bad and they get mad when they only get 1 point. throw some ping pong balls at alex horne and maybe you’ll feel better.

i love website cultures because i posted this here and people are remarking mostly on the name pun or how Shaped the baby is and i posted it on reddit and people are sincerely debating its power balance and banning eviolites from it
if I were doctor who showrunner I would instigate a policy that every season should have one episode where the stakes are so low. like the worst possible outcome is our characters are incredibly embarrassed, just some good low stakes shenanigans (pranks, good-natured competition, etc) however I would also instigate a policy wherein every season should have one episode that lacks violence entirely but is still so wildly fucked up and unsettling that you are afraid to go to sleep that night and haunted by it for years to come. these two episodes CAN be back to back.
